#bigproject2025 #bigprojectFebruary2025 #christinea My February accountability post - my Big Project 2025 consists of six mini-projects. I have posted against the first 3 areas of my mini projects, throughout February. 1. Take part in p365 (daily). 2. Take part in architecture SIG group (weekly) 3. Take part in macro/close up SIG (monthly) – the February 2025 prompt is ‘peeling paint’. Updates against areas 4-6 of my Big Project 4. I will read and do the exercises from books that I own to develop my approach – I’ve completed reading and doing the exercises from ‘The Mindful Photographer’. I will go back to the exercises and repeat them. I found them helpful. I’m in the process of reading other photography books from my library such as ‘The Women who changed Photography’ – Gemma Padley. The book includes information on 50 women who made ‘a unique and revolutionary contribution to photography’. At the end of each chapter the reader is encouraged to make a photo in the style of the photographer. I've made note of approaches I already use and how to improve and approaches that I have not yet tried which I intend to have a go at. 5. I will use a variety of photography resources to inform and develop my practice - I attended a talk by Simon Buckley, local photographer, on the theme of Not Quite Light (NQL). He takes photos before sunrise and after sunset https://notquitelight.com/about-not-quite-light/. I enjoyed the talk. Some of his photos used natural/ambient light, some did not. I am in the process of attending an RPS course on the topic of ‘Ecological and Experimental Photography’ led by Elizabeth Woodger (elizabethwoodger.com). The three-session course discusses environmentally friendly photography approaches, and how photography can highlight environmental issues. I’ve enjoyed attending and learning from the course. I’ve not had time to do the ‘homework’. I have been gathering ideas on what I want to do when I do have time. 6. I will make at least one photo with my Lumix each month and post at least one in the camera club– last year I mainly used my phone camera or Olympus Tough camera due to personal circumstances. That approach will continue this year; however, I aim to use my Lumix more this year. I used my Lumix in February to make and post photos in the camera club. I used it less than January, due to personal circumstance. Photo (below) taken on my Lumix. I’m happy with my progress.
